As I mentioned above, start your email marketing strategy with a good lead magnet. A lead magnet is a giveaway type of product that will benefit your customer. Starting an email marketing strategy for a small business can be broken down into a few basic steps.
How To Write An Email To Sell A Product Or Service
For some reason, I think selling and talking about what people have for sale can be tough for many people. It really doesn’t have to be. If you know what you have to offer and how it can help people solve their problems - please, we all want to hear about it!
There are a number of ways you can write an email to sell your products or services. And, it’s good to note it probably won’t happen instantly. Building your relationship with your customer base and proving your expertise over time by writing consistent emails will greatly help you sell your product with email marketing.
It also doesn’t have to be complicated to write emails to send to your customers. Break it down into a few steps.
After you share a little in the beginning ask them to visit your website. Maybe you have some great resources they could use for their business. Encourage them to visit your other social media or video content.
And, then you can start offering your product or service.
You can do this in the regular emails you send. You can also offer your product or service in stand-alone emails that don't go out with your regular email subscription.
It doesn’t need to be scary to send out this type of email. You have an awesome product or service, right? The people that signed up and subscribed to you think so, too. (or they probably wouldn’t have signed up - some yes, they just want the freebie)
Now all you need to do is share what you have to offer and how much it is. Or ask them to reach out to you for more info.
How To Write Your Emails To Get Leads
There are endless ways you can write your emails. They can be formal, casual, informative and educational, entertaining and the list goes on.
What can be most important to get leads from your email marketing is being consistent. Just doing it and continuing to do it can be super beneficial to your email marketing process and success. As you work on this part of your marketing you can adjust and test what you create to do this type of marketing even better over time.
Getting leads with your email marketing is more about putting one foot in front of another.
Making a plan and working the plan. And as a small business, you can make adjustments quicker than a big business to change what you are sending out to fit your customer's interests and needs.
It’s also important to remember, email marketing is NOT email sales blasting. It is not recommended to use email marketing to blast specials and buy buy buy from you all the time. Once in a while, your customers want this, yes. But, if it's all you are sharing, you better be the big guys like Home Depot, Kohl's, or Chipotle.
Even the big guys send out content that isn’t just selling their product. They know how important it is to build a relationship with their prospects to ease them into buying. (not everyone, no, but many people).
And, maybe you don’t want what they have to offer, but if you continue to reach out customers will remember you more often and consider buying from you in the future.
