Building a brand for your business can mean so many things. One thing for sure, being consistent with your brand across your platforms and with your message is a good way to develop it. When you build a business you want to stand out and be recognizable. When someone sees something great that you are attached to like a website or an article, you want them to quickly comprehend that it’s from you. You want them to quickly relate your branding with that content.
Another way of putting it is everything looks the same across the board when you are online or off. Your logo is consistently the same, you are always represented by the same select grouping of colors and type styles. The shapes you choose for any graphics or designs should also tie into your branding look. When you pop up online your brand should be consistent and cohesive across the board.
BRANDING AS YOUR MESSAGE
Other areas where branding can come into play for your business is with your mission and your message to your community. Are you the discount painting service in your location? If you have chosen to make this the message for your brand then you need to talk about this as a benefit to using your group. If this is something you want to be known for then you need to communicate this with the public. Incorporating it into your marketing and tag lines is a great place to start.
WHY IS BRANDING IMPORTANT FOR BUSINESS
Ultimately you want to stand out when you market your business and your offer, service, or product. You don’t want people to question who you are or what your business is about. You want to quickly connect with the public when they see your marketing materials. Oh, isn’t that…? Oh, yes, I know them… They do… and, etc.
It’s one of the big reasons people are often using their face in their marketing. For example, the real estate community knows how effective it is. You want to easily be recognizable to anyone looking for what you have to offer. The quicker that happens the quicker they can reach out to you. And, including your image on your marketing and advertising materials can immediately connect your service to their needs for your service.
BUSINESS BRANDING EXAMPLES
Another example of branding that can grab people's attention is when you incorporate your name into your marketing. Use it in your marketing and your tagline like this: When you think plumbing, think Henderson. It’s an easy way to connect with your community and it’s a catchy way to remember you and your business.
Build off of this by including an image of the main Henderson group or the entire family if they are all working together. Use a couple of different colors that always tie into your message and always use the same look everywhere you show your business. For example: On your website, trucks, business cards, social media, traditional marketing and advertising pieces. Always be consistent.
And, if you have a message as we talked about earlier, always include that and run your business around it. The low-cost tax group can make this into a whole campaign and make it what people remember.
